Racking Audit Technology (RAT)

IRIA operates a racking audit system that ensures compliance with not only the Australian Standard (AS4084) but also complies with various work safe authorities and their requirement for a “closed loop OH&S system". In addition it complies with the FEM Standard, providing a “management procedure for the controlling of rack safety”.

The system comprises of 3 parts:

• The racking audit and reporting
• The technology associated with this and
• The racking register and manual

In addition to this a range of training systems are available including DVD’s and Paper based training guides.

RAT™ is a software application developed and used by IRIA to assist our highly trained staff in the collection and storage of racking audit data. The RAT™ system is currently in use with a number of major clients in Australia and around the world.

The solution is based upon the Windows Mobile Computing platform and has been developed specifically for the purpose of completing racking audits in a range of facilities including retail and commercial operations.

Specifically, the solution has a number of key elements. These include; a racking manufacturers parts list, a user interface, a risk framework and a synchronisation element. All of these components combine to form RAT™.

This provides a succinct and tried audit service capable of providing a unique and timely reporting methodology.

RAT™ is continually evolving. Additional reporting functionality has been added to allow for full web based querying of the SQL database by registered users. This will allow users to create their own reports based upon the data that belongs to their company. Additionally the system is being further developed to bolster the asset management component. These requirements are based upon customer requests and continual market investigation.
